Ctrl+drag in the viewport box-selects vertices.

Deletes the selected part and its children from the DFF on save.

Click or Ctrl+drag to select edges (Shift adds/removes), Loop follows the ring. "To vertices" converts the selection for moving, welding or painting.

Click faces in the viewport to select (Shift adds/removes). Deletion is applied to the DFF on save.
